QUEM SOMOS
Jaxi’s platform was born from a challenge suggested by NASA’s Space Apps Hackathon. The challenge’s goal was to provide information that could bring the world closer from one of the SDGs, the Sustainable Development Goals from the UN. Therefore, in two days, a six-member team called HanTerra developed the initial idea for a platform that could connect those who can help to those who need help.
Today, Jaxi’s platform exists due to the voluntary collaboration of several people working together against starvation in the country. All over Brazil, developers, facilitators, NGOs, suppliers and donors are willing to help in the best way they can. Jaxi is a plural platform from a collective work towards a more egalitarian world.

OUR MOTIVATION
Jaxi came to light from the will of giving purpose to data in order to create a different reality in Brazil. We were inspired by one of the firsts sources of data that mankind has ever had: the Moon. Our first satellite helped us develop calendars, plant and harvest and guide ourselves around the world. “Jaxi” is one of the variations for the moon’s name by the tupi-guarani’s tribe, a name as brazilian as our project. Today, we search and analyse different forms of data, mainly provided by NASA, and use them to make the world a little bit better.
Jaxi’s platform intention is to positively impact people’s lives, and we seek to do so by going after the UN's Second Sustainable Development Goal. The SDG 2 is all about ending hunger, achieving food security and improved nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture, and our platform aims to contribute to this.

Goal 2.1: By 2030, end hunger and ensure access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations, including infants, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round.
Indicator: 2.1.1 - 2.1.1 Prevalence of undernourishment
